Travel time: 3 months (Nov 2007 – Feb 2008)
Number of countries visited: Two
Distance travelled: Unknown
Mode of transport: Planes, buses, minivans, tuk tuks, cyclos, WW2 Jeep
Animals ridden: two elephants and a camel
Bollywood movies starred in: 1
Favourite bits: Everything in Nepal! The food, the people the trekking, the scenery. It was an amazing month.
Least favourite bits: Getting Delhi belly in India (those bugs will kill ya!), having a monkey throw poo at me at a train station.
After completing our university degrees we were left with a small budget and a three month gap to fill before starting our new jobs. We could have stayed in Perth and worked, but the mystic charms of India beckoned so off we went!
We spent a month in Nepal and two months circumnavigating India – it was a one-in-a-lifetime journey (mainly because I don’t think we will be brave enough to tackle it again… India is hard work! :-) )
